Wen Muenyi decided to develop a product that can help to reduce the negative impact of men not washing their bed sheets or doing so once in a million years. So, he made Jax Sheets which comprises a unique antibacterial blend of bamboo and copper fibers making it less smelly without washing for a longer period of time.
This was a memorable Shark Tank pitch, but Wen’s main reason of popularity was his pleasant personality and honesty. However, he did not get the Sharks to join him. But, what happened to Jax Sheets?
Jax Sheets on Shark Tank
Jax Sheets’ founder Wen Muenyi started his pitch to the Sharks by asking for a hefty sum of $212,000 in exchange for 10% equity, valuing his business at over $2 million. He then mentioned the interesting statistic that single men only wash their bed sheets once every three months on average. This grossed the judges out and then he showed his product and solution.
In addition to Jax Sheets, he also threw in his line of laundry-free clothing HercLeon on the deal.
Despite his hefty ask, his product attracted potential investors. All the Sharks liked his idea, but they all found his personality even better.
Kevin O’Leary became interested when he heard Jax Sheets made $350,000 revenue on Kickstarter. Muenyi said it costs $33 to get each customer, and they usually spend $148, which made him $70 in profit. However, he had yet to sell any sheets outside of Kickstarted as he did not have enough stock. His shirts have been in the market longer time and made $270,000 last year.
However, both Mark Cuban and Robert Herjavec declined to invest as they wanted his brand to stay 100% his own and thought is should not be corrupted by additional investors. Later, all five sharks dropped because they though the financial side needed more development. They were, however, all interested and asked him to return in another season to pitch his idea again.
What happened to Jax Sheets After Shark Tank?
The segment of Shark Tank that featured Jax Sheets aired on February 12, 2021 alongside other products such as Draft Top and the Pizza Cupcake. The product was met with mixed reactions from the viewers.
However, one thing was for sure. The audience and the sharks both loved the founder’s personality.
Here’s how Twitter reacted. Lori Greiner tweeted,
“This guy is priceless, had us cracking up, it always goes better when you tell us the truth about your business.”
Kevin O’Leary praised the product
“@tide hates this man!! Sheets can go a year without being washed? Now I’ve seen everything!”
There were people who though his abilities as a businessperson were not elite while some did not like the idea of the sheet altogether.
One fan wrote:
“Bro, why it look like the same material that’s used to make blouses? LMAO!!!!”
However, Jax Sheets did get exposure with Shark Tank. He did have people talking about it, after all. Muenyi shared an Instagram story that showed that his website got 8,000 views within just 10 minutes of the airingof his episode.
He wrote on his Instagram story:
“I’m so happy to get the opportunity to be on that show in the first place. I never thought in my life I’d get the chance to be on ‘Shark Tank.'”
Is Jax Sheets still on business in 2024?
Since appearing on Shark Tank, Jax Sheets appears to be in business but it hasn’t shared anything on social media since 2021.
Since appearing on “Shark Tank,” Jax Sheets seems to be absorbed into Muenyi’s HercLeon clothing brand. The sheets are found on the website for between $179.99 and $249.99 with a choice of sizes, materials, and color options.
In addition to sheets, there are also other bedding products including comforters, pillowcases, and fitted sheets. HercLeon also sells a variety of shirts, underwear, socks, tank tops, towels, and face masks. All of these products have long-lasting fabrics.
Rather than just selling one kind of sheet, the brand has now been experimenting with different fabrics and prioritizing different things, such as hygiene, comfort, and cooling for the warmer months.
It still looks like the brand is struggling, however, as customers are still limited to two sheet sets per order, regardless of size, material, or color.
Given Muenyi’s inability to complete Kickstarter orders until November 2023, he looks like he is still struggling with increasing his number as the sharks feared.

What next for Jax Sheets and Wen Muenyi?
The lack of activity on social media from Jax Sheets has proved to be worrying for those who fell in love with the company and its founder. However, this is not the end for the business or the owner.
According to Wen Muenyi’s LinkedIn, HercLeon is still up and running to this day and seems like its doing well. The company looks like it is still ambitious regarding its products as stated on its LinkedIn bio:
“HercLeon is dedicated to reducing humanities carbon footprint by creating products that push society forward towards a sustainable consumption habits … Our goal is to help show people that they can live a cleaner, healthier, and freer life while still reducing their carbon footprint.”
In a statement in the company website, it is written:
“Now, we’re fully committed to its vision of a future where our innovation improves people’s lives and influences positive change with other bedding companies. We believe that in the future, everyone will sleep on HercLéon sheets at least once in their lives at home or in a hotel, cruise ship, flight, hospital, the army, space, or somewhere where people sleep.”
It seems like a good idea as it has slightly changed the advertising of the brand. Previously, it used to be just a sheet for messy guys but now it has shifted efforts in creating a sustainable lifestyle. As all companies tend to do these days, it seems like they are also trying to find ways to push its environmentally friendly aspects.
