Alongside the standard dining room, living room, and kitchen, the historic Inn features unique amenities such as a “Bourbon Room,” wine cellar, and a separate building called “The Smokehouse,” which includes an outdoor grill. You can book the entire home for a two-night minimum stay through Airbnb.
‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Controversy: A Closer Look at the Dual Lawsuits
2021 lawsuit settlement
In 2021, the first lawsuit was filed against the TV couple, Dave and Jenny. Court documents revealed that Dave and Jenny approached an Arkansas couple in 2018, offering to renovate their home for Fixer to Fabulous. However, they didn’t have the necessary Arkansas contractor’s license or construction permits from Benton County, Arkansas, for the renovation.
The plaintiffs claimed they had to pay for repairs after the renovation and demanded at least $75,000 in compensation from the couple. However, in 2022, a judge dismissed the case, stating that the plaintiffs had settled their claims and released the defendants from any further claims.
2023 lawsuit remains ongoing
In February 2023, Dave and Jenny got sued again by a couple from Arkansas named Mark and Sarah McGrath. They said the house Dave and Jenny built for them the year before had various defects and unfinished work. The McGraths couple paid more than $10,000 for the repairs. The repairs included tasks like continuing hardwood floors in the upstairs bedrooms, installing a different kitchen sink, adding stairs and a handrail from the back deck to the yard, and putting windows in a top garage panel.
Despite several months of negotiations and unsuccessful attempts at court-ordered mediation, no settlement has been reached. Consequently, both parties are now headed towards a five-day jury trial scheduled to commence at 9 a.m. on September 23, 2024, at the Benton County Courthouse.
