From being on-screen lovers to real-life couple, here’s a glimpse of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ relationship timeline.
These two surely have a true Hollywood love story. Kutcher and Kunis first met as co-stars on That ’70s Show where they played on-again, off-again couple Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso. However, it took them nearly 15 more years before they started dating in real life too.
The couple’s co-star Debra Jo Rupp said that there was a spark between the two even before their love story began.
Rupp told Access Hollywood in January 2023, “There was this little reunion, and I remember watching it,”
“It was quite a while after ’70s Show had ended, and there was kind of a little spark thing that was happening with Mila and Ashton. I caught that — I absolutely caught that.”
Now the two are happily married with two wonderful kids. They make regular headlines for their honest commentary on parenting and making generous contributions to humanitarian causes. The two first met on August 23, 1998, while starring together on That 70s Show where they shared their first kiss. Kutcher was 20 and Mila was just 14 at the time. Kunis played Jackie Burkhart while Kutcher played Michael Kelso, and their characters dated on and off throughout the series.
In 2001, the mom of two told People that not only did she and Kutcher share their first kiss during the show, but it was also her first-ever kiss.
She said,
“I was like, ‘Oh, he’s so cute, it’s the Calvin Klein model!’
“Then I was like, ‘I have to kiss him?’ I was so nervous and uncomfortable. I had the biggest crush on him.”
The Ted actress also revealed that Kutcher put her at ease by making her laugh and giving funny little compliments.
Not just Mila but Ashton was also equally nervous about the kiss. He said in 2001,
“I’m the first she kissed? Oh my god, I had no idea!”

Kunis broke up with Macaulay Culkin and Kutcher divorced actress Demi Moore in 2011.
Just a few months after separating from their respective partners the stars reconnected at the 69th annual Golden Globes.
During her appearance on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Mila talked about reuniting at the event, saying,
“I was looking around, and there was a really beautiful man from the back. I was literally like, ‘Oh, he’s kinda hot’ … and then he turned around, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, it’s Kutch.’ “
When did Kutcher and Kunis start dating?
In January 2012, Kutcher invited Kunis to his housewarming party in Hollywood Hills. After that, they casually started seeing each other.
Kunis remembered saying,
“We were just like, let’s just hook up. Let’s have fun. We’re both single. We both trust each other. Everything’s great,”

The following month, shortly after their engagement was announced, it was confirmed that the couple was expecting their first child together. In October of that year, they welcomed a daughter Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher. Ashton revealed his baby’s name on his website saying,
“Mila and I would like to welcome Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher to the world. May your life be filled with wonder, love, laughter, health, happiness, curiosity, and privacy.”
Kunis and Kutcher’s marriage and second child
The couple said I DO in a private ceremony in July 2015 which reportedly took place at The Secret Garden at Parrish Ranch in Oak Glen, California.
The couple then welcomed their second child, a son, Dimitri Portwood Kutcher at the end of November 2016.
Ashton previously said on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he was secretly hoping for another girl.
He said,
