When asked about her favorite part

Her house gives the ultimate modern farmhouse-style retreat

Jennifer loves posting a handful of photos from her household on Instagram. Her home oozes a cozy, inviting look with classic white interiors with rustic accents and natural textures. It further looks at the modern farmhouse aesthetics.

She and her husband are business partners

Jenn and her hubby Mike bought the Village Coffee in Allen, Texas, and renamed it Armor Coffee. Since 2020, the quaint shop has been offering a variety of caffeinated concoctions and bites.

Their shop’s name is a tribute to Psalm 91:4, the soldier’s prayer. “My husband is a vet of nine years, so the name was so important to us,” says Jenn.

The couple also bought, renovated, and rebranded Nine Band Brewing in Allen, Texas, the Todryks opened Armor Brewing Co. The Dallas Morning News revealed that the original brewery once belonged to a man charged with murder. The outlet said,

“We hope to bring redemption to it,”

“That’s one thing Jenn and I always try to do: We want to create places that bring joy, light, and happiness.”

The brewing company boasts a 24-tap beer selection, touting its offering as “great beer for great folks” that is “brewed by veterans, enjoyed by everyone.” The brewery also offers great food, and games like darts and has a beer garden for alfresco dining.

One follower said, ‘‘I can personally attest to Jenn’s authenticity. She answered my Zoom call from the closet of her beautiful home in North Dallas wearing a navy-blue sweatshirt and a huge smile. Her energy was electric, and her waist-length hair was flowing (“I haven’t even touched it today!”

A viral blog post introduced her to fame

Before she became an internet sensation, she was a stay-at-home mom turned blogger who used to write blogs and humor essays about being a parent to connect with others. In 2015, she officially launched Life as a Rambling Redhead to “my thirty family members,” she recalls with a laugh. Just seven weeks in, her now-famous post-Top 6 Wines That Pair Best With Your Child’s Crappy Behavior went viral.

Jenn’s a published author

Right after her blog post went viral, a publisher who wanted to expand on the idea of wine pairings for parents approached her. Being a workaholic, Jenn didn’t hesitate to grab the opportunity. Whine: 50 Perfect Wines to Pair With Your Child’s Rotten Behavior hit stores everywhere in 2017. She says, “It sounds like a professional review, but it’s sarcastic,”

Jenn has a dog

The Todryks are a family of six. Nope, not another kid but an English Cream Golden Retriever named Gary. The family even has an Instagram for him under the name @garytodryk which has over 96.2K followers.

Interview with Jenn Todryk

Q. Why did you start your blog?

A: ”The blog started because I was just kind of in a funk, a low point. I had just had Berkley, and the transition to two kids was so tough for me—way tougher than three, had no identity, was a workaholic and I would bring my work home, and really found joy in presenting and making stuff, trying to hustle and be the best at whatever job title.”

”[As a mom of two] I needed an outlet and to create something, even if only my mom and my dad were going to read it. It didn’t matter. It was just spending the hours and the time using my mind for something that was fun.”

Q. Why do you think you resonate with people so much?

A: ”I’m weird. I do little skits and stuff. Most people, when they make a profile in their home decor fashion, or whatever, stay in your lane. That’s what you do. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and that’s why my blog was called Life as a Rambling Redhead. It’s funny—I originally wanted to do a home decorating blog. That’s what I was going to do, but I didn’t have any home decorating to talk about, so I did a post called “I, Mother of Baby Terrorists,” and that one did really good, and so I wrote a second funny one, and that one did really good. So I’m so glad I did Life as a Rambling Redhead because even though it’s obnoxiously long, and now, I’m just pretty much the Rambling Redhead on everything, it’s just all my life.”

Q. What has been your biggest parenting challenge?

A: ”The mom guilt’s always there, but I can’t say just one thing because it just depends on what I’m doing that day. When we’re filming, it’s the guilt that I’m not there. Whenever I’m here, it’s the guilt that I’m working, not crafting. When I’m crafting, it’s the guilt that I’m crafting and not cleaning. I feel like mom guilt’s always there. It just shows its face differently. I definitely hold anxiety with that kind of stuff.”

Q. Your best parenting advice?

A: ”Have fun with it. I really do feel like happiness is a lot of choice and that you can choose to be happy. Find the joy.”
